Types of Therapy
As a Integrative psychotherapist I am experienced at combining several tools and models in my therapy work, for example CBT and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Depending on the problems that you are bringing to therapy and the changes that you are looking to make, I can adapt my approach and style to suit your needs.
Face to Face and Online Therapy (Remote)
I can offer you face to face therapy as well as online therapy. With online therapy, you can expect a similar therapeutic experience as face to face sessions, but which also offers flexibility and convenience.
Managing the balance of children, relationships, work and life can be challenging and sometimes, finding the time to prioritize your mental health can feel like an additional task.
But, that’s the benefit of having your therapy online.
Whether you're juggling work, family, or a never-ending to-do list, online therapy offers flexibility and convenience to help you take care of your mental health and well-being.
Ultimately, the choice between face to face and online therapy should be based on your availability, personal preferences, convenience and needs, as both formats of therapy can be as effective for individuals, couples and families and both formats of therapy have been proven to provide valuable evidence-based interventions and the same level of support, guidance, and mental health support for my clients.
(CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT therapy can help you to understand and notice how your thoughts and thinking maybe affecting your current behaviour and feelings. Helping to challenge your unhelpful thoughts when necessary so you can change the way you perceive certain situations, act and behave in life. As a result you will have a calmer head-space and become more aware of the thoughts and feelings you’re experiencing.
Person-Centered/ Humanistic Psychotherapy
Person Centered/ Humanistic psychotherapy listens to your story, helping you to process and understand how certain patterns and problems are presently in your life. Creating questions that will help open up your thinking and possibilities to manage situations in a healthier way. A humanistic approach is based on the idea that you know and have your own solutions and resources to come up with your own solutions but in a supportive, empathetic environment, and encouraging you that you are able to reach your full potential.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic psychotherapy will help to identify unconscious thought patterns that come from significant past experiences that you had in your life, especially from your childhood, and are now getting in your way of moving forwards in some way. They will guide you in how to stop repeating the same old behaviours that once seemed helpful but are no longer serving you in your current stage of life.
